Three Ways to Save Money on Toys for 1 Year Olds.
My youngest son just celebrated his 1st birthday in June 2012. Money is a bit tight for us at the moment but I wanted to buy the best toys for him. I have been testing and writing about toys for quite a while now and I knew what I wanted to buy buy for my son. First on my list was the Bounce and Spin Zebra. We didn't get this for my eldest son but I've seen lots of kids play on them and read the excellent reviews and I knew it was something that my son would love. However the rrp is £54.99 and best price I could find for this is over at amazon for £44.99 see opposite.
So I decided to buy it from ebay. We got a secondhand zebra in an excellent condition for £16 - to me it's looks as good as new. We had to collect it, (it was 15 minute drive away) but it saved us over £25. Some zebras have been sold for as low as £5 or £10 so it's well worth checking out.
Ebay is a great way to buy bigger and bulkier gifts for 1 year olds that are as new, especially if you can buy locally and collect them. Check out this local ebay deals mapper to help you search for gifts locally. Think slides, activity tables, outdoor toys, smart trikes etc.
2.) Buy in Advance and Check Out Current Deals
The moral of this story is look around in advance for what you want. Shops have sales, offers, deals on all the time. Check out this the hotuk deals website and do a search for baby toys to find out about current offers and discounts.

It's a great bath for 1 year olds.
The mother octopus is a water pouring toy and all the baby octopuses are water squirters.
There are numbers on the baby octopuses and on the places they should be in the mother's tentacles so as babies get older it's good for number matching fun too!
